Hot melt glue gun for plastics.
Whether hot melt holds on a plastic depends on the adhesive, not the gun. Industrial hot melts cover jobs such as automotive profile wrapping and PET labelling, and the cartridge guns also run PUR, a reactive hot melt. Send us the plastic and the job, and we'll suggest the adhesive, then the gun and nozzle.
It depends on
- which plastic, and its surface
- standard or PUR (reactive) hot melt
- the load and temperature the part will see (hot melt can creep, and its heat resistance is limited)
- humidity, for PUR
- run length
Which gun?
- Standard hot melt: the MS 200 family, TR 50.5, TR 55.2 LCD.
- PUR: TR 700, TR 70 LCD, TR 80 LCD. See cartridges and refills, including why the air must be dry for PUR.
Questions.
Can hot melt glue stick to plastic?
On many plastics, yes, with the right adhesive. It depends on the plastic and its surface, so send us the part and the job.
Which glue gun is best for plastic?
The one that takes the adhesive your plastic needs. Standard or PUR decides whether you need a bulk gun or a cartridge gun.
