Cartridge guns: quick glue changes, quick refills, and PUR.

Our three cartridge guns take a standard 310 ml cartridge. Change the glue by changing the cartridge, keep a hot spare ready for a quick refill, or run PUR from a sealed cartridge.

A cartridge glue gun melts hot melt inside a 310 ml cartridge. To change glue, you change the cartridge: no tank to drain. Every cartridge gun from us comes with 2 refillable 310 ml cartridges (#3492), and more can be ordered. With a preheater, a filled, hot cartridge goes in when one runs empty, so there is very little wait for the glue to melt. It is also the standard way to apply PUR.

Why a cartridge?

  • Quick glue changes. Change the glue by changing the cartridge. No tank to drain and no waiting for a fresh tank to melt, so it suits jobs that switch glues often, as well as labs and trials.
  • Quick refills. Keep a filled cartridge hot in a preheater. When the one in the gun runs empty, swap in the hot one and carry on.
  • Cartridges included. Every cartridge gun from us comes with 2 refillable 310 ml cartridges (#3492), and more can be ordered.
  • PUR. It cures with moisture, so a sealed cartridge keeps it fresh until it leaves the nozzle.

Ready-made or refillable?

The 2 refillable 310 ml cartridges (#3492) come in the price, so you can start with your own hot melt straight away. Order more to keep one cartridge per glue, or a spare hot and ready.

Which gun?

  • TR 700: fixed at 120 °C, nothing to set: for glues that run at 120 °C, such as PUR at its standard temperature. ₹1,62,750 + GST.
  • TR 70 LCD: set 50 to 210 °C on a display, so each glue runs at its own temperature. ₹2,12,630 + GST.
  • TR 80 LCD: bead or spray, standard hot melt or PUR. ₹2,64,600 + GST.

Keep the air dry for PUR

Ordinary compressed air is fine, but it must not be humid, because moisture in the air speeds up the PUR’s reaction from the back of the cartridge.

Quick refills: preheater and pre-melter

  • Cartridge preheater KVG.LCD (#5143): keeps 2 filled cartridges hot, 50 to 160 °C, with a display. When the gun runs empty, a hot cartridge goes straight in, with very little wait for the glue to melt.
  • KVG.2: the same for 2 cartridges, fixed at 125 °C.
  • Pre-melter VSB 40 (#5563): melts hot melt in bulk, 4 litres, and also takes blocks, to fill refillable cartridges.

Questions.

Why choose a cartridge gun if I don't use PUR?

For quick glue changes and quick refills. Change the glue by changing the cartridge, with no tank to drain. And keep a filled cartridge hot in a preheater, so when the one in the gun runs empty, a hot one goes straight in.

What does a cartridge preheater do?

It keeps 2 filled cartridges hot and ready. When the cartridge in the gun runs empty, you swap in a hot one and carry on, with very little wait for the glue to melt.

Can I refill a cartridge?

Yes, with the refillable cartridge, using granulate or pillows of a non-reactive hot melt. To fill cartridges regularly, a pre-melter such as the VSB 40 melts the glue in bulk.

What is PUR hot melt?

A reactive hot melt. It goes on like normal hot melt, then cures with moisture into a stronger bond. Because moisture sets it off, it comes in sealed cartridges.

Why does PUR need a cartridge gun?

PUR cures with moisture, so it has to stay sealed until it leaves the nozzle. A cartridge gun melts it inside its sealed 310 ml cartridge.

Which Reka gun is best for PUR?

TR 700 if you run PUR at its standard 120 °C, TR 70 LCD if you set your own temperature, TR 80 LCD if you also want to spray.
