Hand glue gun or melter system?
A hand gun carries its own small tank and you refill it by hand. A melter system has a separate tank, a pump, heated hoses and one or two hand guns. Move up when you run a continuous line, when refilling becomes the bottleneck, when two operators should work off one tank, or when you spray a large area all shift.
The difference
- Hand gun: its own small tank (150 to 330 ml on our range), refilled by hand. Published prices, delivered in 4–5 weeks.
- Melter system: a separate tank (4 L on a Nordson DuraBlue, melting up to 4.7 kg an hour), a pump, heated hoses and one or two hand guns.
When to move up
- a continuous line
- glue use that makes refilling the bottleneck
- two operators working off one tank
- spraying a large area all shift
